This is down 2 percent since early 1999. AOL’s nearest competitor is Road Runner, with a global usage share of 2.76 percent. Road Runner is not a competitor in the strictest sense, however, as it is owned by AOL Time Warner. UUNet is in third place with 2.18 percent global market share, followed by Sympatico with 1.04 percent, Mindspring with 0.79 percent, and T-Online with 0.61 percent.
